The beauty of the South of Thailand: 6 Days 5 Nights |
Explore the most interesting areas of southern Thailand, beginning in Phuket. Thailand's largest island is often dubbed as the pearl of the Andaman, or the pearl of the south. Enjoy the natural beauty - rocky geographic formations, white powdery beaches and tranquil broad bays. Visit peaceful historic town at Songkhla, endowed with ancient ruins, arts, and places of cultural importance. Visit the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Thailand and the ancient temple found there. Then you will travel to Nakorn Si Thammarat and Krabi where you can enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches and landscapes in the world and take part in the widely varied activities.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Phuket - Phang Nga Bay - Trang
Pick up at your hotel in Phuket or Phuket Airport. Depart to Phang Nga Bay with its weird and wonderful towering limestone stacks, which is one of Southern Thailand's most famous natural beauty spots. Then we will go by long tail boat through one of the most stunning parts of Phang Nga Bay. Hundreds of odd-shaped limestone formations rise from the water, often covered with tropical vegetations; some of them are just tiny rocks, others larger islands.
Lunch will be served at a local seafood restaurant in the Muslim village of Koh Panyi, which is built on stills out in the open sea. Then we continue forwards to Trang. Trang has been a trading center at least between 7th and 13th centuries. The town has a strong Chinese character.

Then we explore the watery reserve by long tail boat. Among the birds are the purple swamp hen, bronze winged jacana, whistling teal, white ibis and more. Around 100 families live along the shores of Thale Noi, who live mostly in raised wooden houses. Then we continue to Nakhon Si Thammarat. Afternoon is at leisure.
