Experience of The South: 6 Days 5 Nights |
You will explore the popular attractions along the southern route of Thailand. The program combines tours of historic sights with Thailand’s most popular beach destinations. You will visit Damnern Saduak Floating Market and several historic and cultural sights traversing the Gulf of Thailand. You will stop in some of the developing resort areas to the south of Bangkok and take a boat trip to Koh Samui. From Samui the tour will take you by air to Phuket and then on a tour of the beautiful small islands off the coast of Phuket. Enjoy with memorable activities and beautiful beaches including Cha Am, Samui and Phuket.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok - Damnern Saduak - Ampawa
We pick you up from your hotel in Bangkok and go to Kunphitak farm, "Nature Sugar Farm" in Damnern Saduak. Here we see the processing of Coconut sugar. By long tail boat we continue to Damnern Saduak Floating Market, walk around the bustling authentic traditional market and see how the vendors sell their natural products from the paddling boats. We return to the farm to start cycling along the greenery area on both sides of the cycling route. We taste the atmosphere during our travel amidst the local Thai people. We will see many fruit and vegetable plantations, such as coconut, custard fruit, jackfruit, grapes, guava and papayas. Lunch will be served at "Khunpitak Farm".
After lunch we continue to visit a pottery handicraft center, "Benjarong", which means "five colors". Then we bring a visits to Wat Chulamanee Temple to see the wonder of the natural mummified Buddhist priest in a glass coffin. Hereafter we proceed to Rama II Memorial Park to see a group of Thai style wooden teak houses. By long tail we go over the Mae klong River to our accommodation.

Day 2: Ampawa - Cha-Am
After breakfast at the resort, we proceed to Petchaburi and visit the Khao Luang cave with its highly revered Buddha images that are lined up at the foot of the rock wall. Then we climb uphill to see King Mongkut's Summer Palace (closed on Monday/Tuesdays and public holidays), Wat Maha That and the monkey temple. Hereafter we continue to Cha-Am, the sunrise-side coastal town at the Gulf of Thailand.

Day 3: Cha-Am - Hua Hin - Chumpon
Today we first visit the renovated Summer Palace Marukatayawan, which is made out of golden teak wood. Then in Hua Hin we visit the old train station. The history of this train station can be seen at the Sofitel Central Hua Hin Hotel. Hereafter we continue to Prachuap Kiri Khan. After lunch we visit Khao Chong Krajok, located at an idyllic bay and flanked by mountaintops. We climb up 386 steps to a small pagoda, located on the top of the hill. There we can enjoy the beautiful panorama of this quiet fishing town. Then we proceed to Chumpon. In the evening you can join an organized optional tour, arranged by the resort on squid fishing.

Day 4: Chumpon - Koh Samui
In the morning we visit local fisherman village and market, followed by a boat trip with Lomprayah high speed catamaran boat via Koh Tao - Koh Phanang to Koh Samui (in case of bad weather conditions the route to Koh Samui will be done by minivan, times of boat schedules can be changed).
When we arrive at Koh Samui Island, we will be transferred to the resort.

Day 5: Koh Samui
All day at leisure. Today you can rent a motorcycle to discover the Palm tree Island or relax at the swimming pool.

Day 6: Koh Samui - Phang Nga Bay - Phuket
After breakfast at the resort, we will have a transfer to Samui airport for the flight to Phuket. From Phuket we depart to the well-known James Bond Island by long tail boat through one of the most stunning parts of Thailand, Phang Nga Bay. Hundreds of odd-shaped limestone formations rise from the water, often covered with tropical vegetations; some of them are just tiny rocks, others larger islands. Lunch will be served at a local seafood restaurant in the Muslim village of Koh Panyi, which is built on stills out in the open sea. Then we continue forwards to drop you off at a Phuket hotel of your choice.
