7 Days 6 Nights Chiang Mai - Lampang -Tak - Sukhothai |
From Chiang Mai, you will begin your journey downwards to Lampang and Tak and finish at Sukhothai – the World’s Heritage. After a visit to the city moat, you will head to Doi Suthep Temple; Chiang Mai’s most visited must-see and then learn the tribal cultures at Hmong village at the top of the mountain. On top of Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand, you will rejoice at the sight of three waterfalls and hike across the forested mountain to watch birds. You will be introduced to jumbo friends at the Elephant Conservation Center in Lampang. In Tak, you will stop for shopping for gemstones and handicrafts at Myanmar border and drive to Um Phang on a road with breathtaking views of mountains and forests to witness one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Southeast Asia, the T Lor Su waterfall. To top it off, we will end your journey at Sukhothai Historical Park awarded by UNESCO as “the World’s Heritage."
Itinerary:
Day 1: Chiang Mai - Three Kings - Wat Doi Suthep - Hmong Village
We will meet you at Chiang Mai airport and transfer into the hotel in the city. You can relaxing and enjoy your lunch until 13:00 pm, we will drive from your hotel into the old city of Chiang Mai surrounded by the ancient moat to visit the historical site at the Three Kings Monument. There, you will learn history of the Lanna Kingdom and Chiang Mai. Later, we will drive to the west of the city to Wat Doi Suthep, the most revered golden temple, located on the side of a mountain where you can see the best view of Chiang Mai. After an hour walking and learning about Buddhism there, we will continue driving to the top of the mountain to visit Hmong hill tribe village. You will enjoy a charming view of the forest and fresh air whilst taking a walk around this village for one hour. Then, return to your hotel about 17:00 pm.

Day 2: Chiang Mai - Doi Inthanon National Park
The day begins with a scenic drive along the mountains south of Chiang Mai. Upon reaching Doi Inthanon our guide will take you into the park where you will visit 3 beautiful waterfalls and can hike on the top of the mountain, the highest point in Thailand. You will also visit the beautiful temples, built facing each other amidst mountain top gardens. This tour provides lots of flexibility for you and your group to walk around the various sights and even do some bird watching, as this is a world renowned birding zone.
You will be shown through the park by one of our license professional guides, English speaking of course. During the tour we make extra effort to show you points of interest off of the beaten path and hope to pass on a bit of information about Thai culture as you tour this national treasure.

Day 3: Chiang Mai – Lampang – Mae Sod
From Chiang Mai, after breakfast, we will drive from Chiang Mai to Lamphun along the historical road shaded by hundreds of Gum Tree to visit the elephant conservation center in Lampang. After an hour long elephant show, we will visit a famous temple named Wat Pratart Lampang Luang in Lampang, and drive past Tak to the western border town of Mae Sod. Then we will check in to the hotel there.

Day 4: Mae Sod – Um Phang
After breakfast, we will visit the market of precious stones and several woodcraft products at Burmese border. From there, we will drive along the scenic road 164 kms to Um Phang. We will stop on the way at the waterfall and at the Burmese Refugee camp, with marvelous scenic views until we reach the valley of Um Phang. We will then check into a resort beautifully located in the heart of the town.

Day 5: Um Phang – T Lor Su
After breakfast, we will start a memorable two hour rubber rafting trip along the Maekong River and through the dense forest. You will enjoy hearing sounds of wild animals; many kinds of birds, monkeys or gibbons or other of the many species of fauna living here. The picnic lunch will be provided after rafting. In the afternoon, we will take a truck into the deep green forest, and then check in at the riverside camp. Afterward, we will walk for 10 minutes to T Lor Su waterfall, the most famous waterfall in Thailand and the biggest one in Southeast Asia. You can go swimming at the fall and enjoy free leisure during the whole afternoon. We will stay overnight at the camping site there.

Day 6: Um Phang – Tak –Sukhothai
After having a delicious breakfast in the misty and nicely cool ambience, we will take the truck back to Um Phang. After refreshing yourself, we will depart the resort for Mae Sod. After lunch, we will drive to Tak province and stop on the way at the Muser hill tribe market and then continue to Sukhothai. Afterward, we will check into the hotel.

Day 7: Sukhothai
In the late morning we will visit Sukhothai Historical Park, the world’s heritage where you can learn about the Kingdom of Sukhothai established 700 years ago, the golden period of the great King Ramkamhaeng and go on a sight seeing around the ancient remains there. Thereafter, we will transfer you to Sukhothai airport.
