From Chiang Mai you continue down towards Bangkok, along the way stop at Lampang, Sukothai, Phitsanuloke and Lopburi for some unforgettable historical sites, temples and tours. Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok
We pick you up at your hotel in Bangkok for a long tail boat trip on the mighty Kings River. You can explore Bangkok by boat over the Chao Phraya River, along the many klongs (canals), which is the most exciting way of experiencing life in Bangkok and see why Bangkok is called the "Venice of the East". We stop and visit the stunning Temple of Dawn, "Wat Arun". Around 12:00 pm a delicious lunch will be served at the river.

Day 2: Bangkok
After breakfast at the hotel we visit the largest flower and vegetable market of Thailand. This market is well known as "Pak Klong Talaad", center of who sell flowers, fruits and vegetables. Farmers bring their farm products to this market daily. Then we continue to China town, a center for trading by the Chinese since they moved from China some 300 years ago. We stroll through the small soi's and visit the Indo-Chinese food market.

After lunch we visit the most beautiful temple of the ancient Siam, The Grand Palace, which is a must for every visitor. In this palace complex we visit the Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image of Thailand and other areas as The Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall and The Funeral Palace

Day 3: Bangkok

Day 4: Bangkok - River Kwai
In the morning we depart to Bangkok Noi train station for an open train ride over the Thailand – Burmese railway, the "Death Railway" to Kanchanaburi. We will sit among the local people. During the trip you will be served all the time! In these trains it is allowed that local people sell their products like fried chicken on a stick, soft drinks and souvenirs. An unforgettable experience!

Around 11:00 am we arrive at the famous Bridge over the river Kwai, where we take a walk and taste the atmosphere of the Kwai River. After lunch we continue to visit JEATH war museum, to view a realistic replica of a prisoner of war's living quarter containing sketches, and photographs describing life in the camps. Hereafter we visit the war cemetery, the final resting place for over 6.000 allied prisoners of war.

Day 5: River Kwai - Bang Pa In - Ayutthaya - Chiang Mai
After breakfast we go to Ayutthaya, where our first stop will be at a fascinating tourist attraction, "Bang Pa In Palace", the summer palace of Thai monarchs since the 17th century. Bang Pa In Palace has a charming collection of pavilions in variety of Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectural styles, surrounded by a beautiful garden and water.

Then we depart for the ancient city, Ayutthaya. This old capital was from 1359 till 1767 the capital of Siam. In 1767 this city was destroyed by the Burmese. Here we visit three important temples: "Wat Chawathanaram", which is occupying a magnificent position on the west bank of the Chao Praya river, "Wat Phra Sri Sanphet" and ruins in the middle of the old capital and the giant bronze statue at Wat Mongkol Borpith. After lunch you have spare time to discover the old city by your self. At 21:00 pm we take the night train from Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai. Before we step in we arrange a place to have a shower.

Day 6: Chiang Mai
Arrive early morning at Chiang Mai, breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast and freshen up, we will visit Doi Sutherp, one of the most revered Buddhist shrines in Northern Thailand. This shrine was built at an elevation of 1056 meters above sea level. A staircase reaches the temple with 290 steps flanked by a Naga balustrade on both sides. On the top you have excellent view over the city of Chiang Mai. After lunch we visit the handicraft industries from San Kamphaeng and we will bring a visit to umbrella, silk and silver factories.

Day 7: Chiang Mai
In the early morning we visit The Elephant Training Center Chiang Dao. This natural center is located in a wooded area beside a stream. We will see how elephants are bathing, lifting and dragging. After the show we will continue with an elephant ride of one hour through the jungle. After the ride we do a bamboo rafting down the stream. Lunch will be served at the farm. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 8: Chiang Mai
All day at leisure at Chiang Mai, to discover street-by-street of this ancient city. We will advice you to rent a Tuk Tuk for one hour to visit the highlights of the city.

Warorot Market, during the day this covered market sells clothing, souvenirs and others, often the prices are lower than at the Night Bazaar. Local fruits, spices and tasty dishes are also available. By night, it is the site of a colorful flower market.

Day 9: Chiang Mai - Lampang - Sukothai
Depart to Dan Kwiang Forest market. This market is known for the variety of grilled, baked and roasted insects. Then we continue to Lampang, where we visit one of the most beautiful and famous temples in Northern Thailand, "Wat Phra That Lampang Luang". The eventful history of this 1000-year-old temple can be discovered in its many details.

Hereafter we drive to Sukothai, where you visit the ancient ruins at Sukothai Historical Park and Wat Sri Chum with its giant Buddha statue.

Day 10: Sukothai - Phitsanuloke - Lopburi - Bangkok
Depart to Phitsanuloke, where we visit Wat Mahatat and its highly revered Buddha statue, Phra Buddha Jinaraj and a factory of Buddha sculptures. Then we continue to Lopburi. One of Thailand oldest cities, Lop Buri was known as Lavo in the Dvaravati period in the 6th century and became an important outpost of the Khmer Empire. We visit King Narai's Palace and Prang Sam Yot Khmer temple. Monkeys inhabit this temple. Then we continue to Saraburi, where we visit "Wat Phra Buddha bat", to see a very important foot print from Buddha in Thailand. After lunch we continue our way to Bangkok where the program ends. Drop off anywhere in Bangkok
