River Kwai Classic: 3 Days 2 Nights |
This 3 days trip is your chance to see the beautiful town of Kanchanaburi and several of the sights in the area. You can explore a famous JEATH war museum, beautiful scenery of Kwai River, Keang Lava Cave, Sai Yok Yai Waterfall and experience an unforgettable long-tail boat along the river and historical ride on Death Railway Train.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok - Kanchanaburi
We pick you up at your hotel in Bangkok and drive via Nakorn Pathom to Kanchanaburi. In Kanchanaburi we visit the JEATH war museum to view a realistic replica of prisoners-of-war living quarters, containing sketches and photographs describing the life of the prisoners in the camp and the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. 12:30 pm you will arrive at the River Kwai Village Resort. A Thai lunch will be served at the jungle view restaurant, which is waiting for us. The afternoon is at leisure at this natural resort, located in the jungle.
Dinner and overnight at the River Kwai Village Resort

Day 2: Kanchanaburi
After breakfast at the resort, we will go by long tail boat for an unforgettable full day tour at the River Kwai valley. We visit the famous Keang Lava Cave, which is well known for its fantastic stone formation. During the boat trip we pass floating houses and bamboo jungle. We get a first hand impression of the scenic river life. Around 11:45 am we arrive to the waterfalls Sai Yok Yai and take a picnic lunch on the floating houses. In the afternoon you can go for a sunbath, swimming in the river, at the waterfall and walking around the bamboo and teak forest.

Day 3: Kanchanaburi - Bangkok
We will have breakfast at the resort. Our first activity this morning will be a 60-minute long tail boat ride down the river Kwai Noi to Lum Sum station. We go here on board of the Death railway train for one-hour journey to Nam Tok station, which is situated on the border of Thailand and Myanmar and was constructed by the allied prisoners of World War 2. During this trip we are passing the famous wooden Death viaduct along the mountainside. Hereafter we will return to the resort for lunch. Around 18:30 pm we arrive back in Bangkok, where you will get a transfer to your hotel
