This is your chance to see the beautiful town of Pai and several of the sights on the way. Pai is a wonderful, small town nestled in the hills of Mae Hong Son province in northern Thailand. Pai is perhaps most famous for its cultural diversity with it's Thai/Foreigner mix, hippie subculture and reputation for music and fine arts. Pai is in a beautiful setting and on the journey to Pai one encounters many wonderful sights. This is a great day trip for those that do not have the time to take a more extended trip to this region.
The drive to Pai might be ranked as the area's most scenic. Following up and down mountain crests and past the Huay Naam Dung National Park, you will see awesome pastoral views of rice fields and farms, temples and villages, streams and forests.
Itinerary:
Departure from Chiang Mai at 08:00 am, then we will continue the journey to Pai. After a brief stop in Pai, we will take in some of the surrounding sights. You will visit Tha Pai Hot springs and enjoy lunch at Huay Nam Dang waterfall, we will go visit a Hill tribe village and see the stunning 'Temple on the Hill' - Wat Mae Yen.
On the way back to Chiang Mai we will stop at Mog Fha waterfall. You will see Pong Duead Hot Spring where there are 3 - 4 big hot spring and several smaller scattered through the area. See small geysers erupting as high a 2 m, creating clouds of steam in the woodland. We will follow the Pong Duead Nature Trail, which covers a distance of 1,550. Then we will make the journey back to Chiang Mai and drop off at your hotel after this full and very rewarding day.
